The season of love is upon us. It's been 1.5 years since Voxn opened our doors to the public or as I like to joke, since we've dated. For those aspiring entrepreneurs or even those who have been through their first year can relate that your first year in business is like a first date. Here's why:

You're wondering if you dressed appropriate or not.

Hopefully you know what you are doing that evening, so you don't wear a cocktail gown to lazer tag, but you will wonder if you dressed appropriate or not when your date comes to pick you up. That is true for a business too, you will hope you are dressed in a way to look like the boss especially at unexpected times. If you aren't sure, you can always swing into the store and have us help style you or just tell us your new adventure so we can be excited with you!

Butterflies, Restlessness, Nerves.

We have all felt them before a first date, as an athlete stepping out onto your field, and even as an entrepreneur on the next big idea. When you are starting something new it makes you excited and nervous at the same time. The first year in business is filled with butterflies, restlessness and nerves. It makes it that much more exciting.

You ordered the Filet Mignon when you probably should have ordered the edamame.

You have probably heard how entrepreneurs are known for biting off more than they can chew? It's true. Big dreams. Big ideas. Big bites. We are perfectionists and always want the best, even if it's not necessarily in the cards...but we're probably going to do it anyways. Just saying.

You learn what works and what doesn't.

You may have proven pick up lines and theories, but your world will be reshaped. What may have worked before doesn't necessarily work now.  One second you're flying high and the next you're down and out. (Note: these extremes happen in one day.) But you're learning about each other and will soon find your groove.

You can't wait to see your business again.

When you realize you really like someone, they are on your mind a lot making it hard to sleep sometimes, you wonder how they are doing and you can't wait to see them again.

"You know your in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." -Dr. Suess.
